The Winner Cold Cast Bronze Sculpture by David Geenty Though capturing motion in art is both a difficult and coverted skill, David adroitly executes this dance of horse and Jockey with exquisite detail. Muscular haunches meld with tuat reigns in the equestrian figure replicated in a bronze designer resin to capture every important nuance of the sculpture. About David Geenty David Geenty was born in England in 1945 and brought up in South Africa. His earliest impressions were formed on his fathers ranch in the Gonarhezho, a vast wilderness in the south-east region of present day Zimbabwe. As an art student in Johannesburg, David was greatly influenced by Moses Kotler, a South African sculptor reknowned for his work. David believes that he owes his great animalier talents to Kotlers tuition. He is primarily a wildlife sculptor, and has also acquired a respected reputation for his equine works both here in the UK and in America, where his work can be seen in the Kentucky Museum of Racing History. David has been associated in the giftware field with Heredities, Border Fine Arts and Albany Fine China. He feels he is indebted to John Hammond, of Border Fine Arts, from whom he learnt so much and within that time produced a vast number of racehorses, country life and dog pieces, many which are now collectors pieces. His work is collected and cherished by many. He hopes that his offerings will give others as much pleasure as he had in their making. Sits on wooden base Dimensions: 36cm x 10cm x 20cm Weight 945g
